Draw a profile on the left facing the right. Then draw the same profile on the right facing the left. If everything has gone according to plan you should have achieved “Vase Face.” The two opposing faces create the form of a vase.
Which one do you see first?
These were just a few explorations of my own. Personally I tend to see a vase more often when the face profile is simple. The more complicated the profile, like in my example in the bottom left, the harder it is to establish the vase form. That is just me though.
Please disregard the fish. I have a sushi craving at the moment and it has intruded into my drawing exercise.
